AGARTALA, July 24 (TIWN): To ensure 90% Female Cow production in State, Tripura Law Minister Ratanlal Nath has announced to introduce ‘Sex-Sorted Artificial Semen Insemination’ replacing the Conventional Artificial Semen. Addressing media at Secretariat, after a cabinet meeting, Minister Nath on Friday said, “Under the previous process only 40% cows became pregnant. Among that 40% cows, only 40% female cows were delivered. But under the new ‘Sex-Sorted Artificial Semen Insemination’ there will be 90% female productions. That means out of 100 cows, 90 cows will be female. In this way the crisis of milk will end in Tripura by developing dairy industry massively. This project will be under “Mukhyomontri Unnoto Godhan Prakolpo” scheme for which total project cost will be Rs. 13,10,40,000 (13 crores 10 lakhs 40 thousand rupees) under 90:10 fund share by Centre and State”.

“Total 78,000 cows have been targeted this year, in 2021-22 total 46,800 cows and in 2022-23 year total 31,200 cows =  totaling 1.50 lakhs of cows to be targeted by 3 years”, said the Minister.

Out of total funding already Rs. 4,24,53,000 (4 crores, 24 thousand, 53 thousand) has been sanctioned.

Milk productions are increasing under the BJP Govt, said by the Minister.

The yearly data given by him is below :

2017-18 FY : 1,74,260 metric ton milk

2018-19 FY : 1,83,515 metric ton production

2019-20- FY : 1,97,270 metric ton production

Amid increasing productions, there are still crisis in the state as the demand of milk in Tripura is 2,34,350 metric ton but the production is 1.97,270. With the new scheme it will boost business and grow dairy industry, said Minister Ratanlal Nath.
