AGARTALA, July 24 (TIWN): In a great news for the SSA teachers in Manipur, the Biren Singh Govt there has decided to regularize them. This decision was declared on July 23, 2020. This has ushered a ray of hope for the Tripura SSA teachers and other contractual employees who are striving for regularization. Although, Law Minister Ratanlal Nath had earlier hesitated on this issue, saying ‘legal obligations’ but with Manipur’s regularization, now legal obligation allegations may not work out in excuse, specially when BJP promised to regularize all contractual employees in its Vision Document.

As per the Order dtd.23rd July, 2020, issued by the Government of Manipur, “Department of Education, the Government of Manipur had taken a decision to integrated and absorbed the service of 2889 SSA teachers working under SSA out of 3235 posts of teachers sanctioned under SSA (i.e 1951 Lower Primary teachers & 938 Upper Primary teachers) into Department of Education as Regular Teachers against the posts created by Government of Manipur”.

It is noteworthy that in the Left Govt’s era, the SSA teachers sat on Hunger Strike from August 1, 2017 to August 7, 2017. On that time the present Education Minister Ratanlal Nath, CM Biplab Deb joined the protest as Opposition.

Then BJP had promised to regularize all SSA teachers, other contractual employees in its verbal and also Vision Document.

So, with the regularization of Manipur SSA teachers, now, the Tripura SSA employees have demanded the same.
