AGARTALA, July 23 (TIWN): Tripura police's unruly interference in CPI-M's peaceful protest which was been staged by maintaining all the norms of social distancing, erupted a situation of tension in the heart of capital Agartala.

On Thursday CITU, CPI-M's indigenous wing Ganamukti Parishad and other associations came together to stage protest against Tripura's BJP led 28 month's government's corruption during the Covid-19 pandemic. The protest curriculum was been staged in a peaceful way, without harming anyone and also by maintaining all the norms of social distancing. But the tension erupted when West police interfered and asked them to stop their curriculum.

The police attacked on the senior leaders and arrested the agitators. West SDPO Swasvat Kumar led police force forced the leaders to get into the bus while they are protesting.

In protest of this action CPI-M senior leader Manik Dey said, "Our citizens are not getting bus to go home. Public transportation is facing the worst situation in the state. People need to pay 200-300 extra for the lack of vehicles. And here Tripura police is occupying them to arrest us."

Ex-MP and GMP president Jiten Chowdhury blasted Tripura government for rapid spread of Covid-19 in Tripura. Chowdhury said, "Tripura's BJP Government completely failed to provide security the the citizens of Tripura during this crucial time. The daily workers are starving without food as work is not available. We have demanded 7500 rupees and 10 kilo rice for them but the government did not show any interest in that. This government doesn't think about the well being of the citizens, all they know is selling the important assets of the country, from railway to everything to foreigners and put money in their own pockets."

"In the name of Covid-19 restrictions on public, BJP has spread Covid-19 in Tripura," the leader added.
