AGARTALA, July 13 (TIWN): Tripura BJP’s Ex-Health Minister Sudip Barman has written a letter again to the Chief Minister Biplab Deb requesting him to provide details, specific information about COVID-19 cases, patients travel history, so that public can be aware about the ongoing situation and get the total picture. In the letter to CM Biplab Deb dated 13.7.2020, Sudip Barman stated, “Across India COVID-19 cases have been spiking up and in Tripura everyday all Districts are being affected. The increasing numbers of cases is however, not a fault of the Govt but I think in this state, the infrastructure needs an upgrade with proper planning and management. It is fact, our state has not executed any proper plan to curb the numbers of the transmission of the disease”.

“It is a humanitarian crime to suppress COVID-19 related data. Very unfortunately, although, you are disclosing the numbers of COVID-19 positive cases and also Districtwise giving numbers, but nothing about their travel history or community transmission etc were detailed. As a result, your message is unscientific, incomplete’, the Ex-Health Minister told CM.

“Fact is, without travel history also COVID-19 is spreading ! On last 3,5,6,8,9,10 July who came from other states with Flight services, among them total 102 persons tested COVID-19 positive. That fact you also know and I also know………….On that day, 121 persons have been infected after they came in contact with COVID-19 positive persons. Among them symptomatic infected persons are 58, total 36 infected in quarantine, 9 persons on that day infected from the Health dept. 14 persons were infected with unknown cause and 86 persons were infected with other travel histories than flight…….But your information is half and lacks details. Instead of play hide and seek with the people, it’s better that we talk to all openly and thus aware all. If necessary, we should take media’s help but as much as we will hide the matters, infections will be increased”, added Sudip Barman.
