AGARTALA, July 9 (TIWN): Gas Agencies has continued to take Rs. 28 extra from buyers illegally even after CM's order. Media persons today visited various Gas Agencies and talked to customers standing in long rows, but they are totally unaware about the Rs. 28 as carrying charge.
Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Wednesday asked the customers of LPG to be aware about the loot of Gas Agencies.
CM said, ‘Rs. 28 per cylinder is given by the Central Govt to the Gas Agencies for Home Delivery purpose and so if any customer instead of getting Home Delivery, purchasing cylinders directly from the agencies, then there is absolutely no need of paying that extra money. So, you will pay Rs. 28 less than the price tag when you bought it after standing in rows……..”.
Deb also said, that Rs. 1.80 crores of moneys are thus per month looted by the Gas Agencies from the public in Tripura. Around 6.5 lakhs of connections are existing in the state.
CM urged consumers to be aware about their rights. He also said that every home delivery person has to show the measurement of the gas in front of the customers and then will give a receipt copy.
But so far the Chief Minister’s warning to Gas Agencies did not work out.
