AGARTALA, July 9 (TIWN): Aligned, ruling BJP, IPFT’s internal clashes have created turmoil in the state Tripura for last few days. However, such clashes are not new but centering the upcoming ADC Election, the difference between both parties are bare and open. In response to IPFT Party called a 24 hours strike in the Khumulwng on Thursday, the ADC areas remained shutdown in various sectors. Markets, shops etc exempting Emergency services, the IPFT called strike received mass response. On the background of the strike, addressing media, IPFT General Secretary Mangal Debbarma said, “Today in IPFT’s meeting led by President N C Debbarma, it has been decided that the party would be observing 24 hours strike in Khumulwng on Thursday.
Today from 6 am to Friday 6 am, there will be total strike in Kumulwng”.
Sources informed that centering BJP Party office burning in Khumulwng, this action has been taken place.
Mangal Debbarma said that medicine shops and all emergency services would not be affected in the strike. IPFT has called the common men to observe in day strike with the party. This is quite strange as IPFT itself is in power with the BJP Govt and in this situation also the party is fighting against administration.
“Yesterday, our active worker Pradip Debbarma was arrested in nonbailable section but he is innocent and he is not involved in any anti-social works. Suddenly, at 3 AM he was arrested. We condemn it. Pradip Debbarma is still in police custody. So, in protest we have called strike demanding his immediate release”, Mangal Debbarma told media.
