AGARTALA, July 2 (TIWN): Battala Police on Thursday have arrested 5 gamblers form Border Gol Chakkar area who were caught in red-handed with gambling equipment. The Border Gol Chakkar area has always been a sensitive area in the Capital city Agartala, known as den for all illegal works and mafia-regime, drug-peddling. The arrested persons have been identified as : 1) Abdul Mia, 2) Rajib Dey, 3) Dipankar Deb, 4) Abdul Matin, 5) Abdul Rahim. According to police statement, getting informed via secret sources, the 5 gamblers were arrested followed by a raid. All of them were in a room together and were neck-deep in gambling. Gambling equipment, cashes have been recovered from them. Police are interrogating them and after interrogation to be produced in the Court by tomorrow. Recently, various similar raids have been taken place in the capital city Agartala where police gained major successes.
