AGARTALA, July 1 (TIWN): Although on April, 2020 Tripura Health Dept had found the protest of the nurses for PPE were unethical when state is suffering from such a major tension due to COVID19 Outbreak. 18 nurses were served with show-case notices after they showed protest at GB hospital demanding PPE and accordingly action was taken, but today during a protest, Intern Doctors have slammed the BJP Govt over PPE crisis in their hospital. They were protesting against their pending wages for last 2 months. The protesting intern Doctors of GB Hospital has revealed the truth that being the frontline soldiers they are not getting any personal protective equipment (PPE) from the government. They are working in hospital, collecting samples only wearing masks as no special care has been provided to them amid Covid situation. On top of they are not getting any payment for last two months.

The agitators slammed the State Govt asking, what is the meaning of keeping a Govt which can’t pay interim Doctors their limited pays ? Ironically, today is National Doctor's Day in India when Tripura's Doctors are suffering in crisis but Tripura Govt has assured about a 'Model State' by next few months.

“We are working hard amid COVID-19 pandemic. The patients are in the same building where we are working. Where is PPE ? Nothing has been given to us. This is COVID-19 period that is fact but how should we live ? Don't Doctors deserve that limited pay also ?”, said the protesting Doctors.

Ironically, today is National Doctor's Day in India when Tripura's Doctors are suffering in crisis but Tripura Govt has assured about a 'Model State' by next few months. 

Tripura’s biggest Govt hospital is GB hospital but now it is facing troubles as over 80 Doctors have gone in Strike for indefinite period. Their strike to be continued till they are paid off.

“If the Government can not pay off to such a little number of staffs, then what is the use of the Govt here ? This is our final decision that till we are not paid off, we will not work”, the Doctors said.
