AGARTALA, July 1 (TIWN): With ‘Ulta Rath’ yatra, the 7 days long Ratha Yatra festival has been ended on Wednesday.
From Laxmi Narayan Bari the Ratha (charit) made a visit in the Raj Bari (Ujjayanta Palace) during the ending visit of Ratha-Yatra. In other places also, same ritual was observed with traditional destination. In Iskcon also, it was celebrated with full devotion.
But due to COVID-19 this year, gathering remained restricted.
The festival marks the annual journey of the three deities - Lord Jagannath, his brother Bhalabhadra and sister Subhadra.
As a part of the observance of auspicious Rath Jatra festival, the main programme was observed at Melagarh.
Prior to the traverse, all the priests have performed their rituals as per the tradition in the Jagannath Bari temple at Agartala.
