AGARTALA, June 30 (TIWN): The CPI staged protest on Tuesday over increased fuel price hike and other essential commodities in Tripura and across the state.
In Agartala Krishnanagar Harish Thakur road , a massive protest with social distancing was staged by CPI.
CPI leader Dr.Judhistir Das said,"In the time of lockdown when daily workers are not getting any source of income, common people are in pathetic condition to arrange two meals a day, prices of petrol, diesel and other fuel items are increasingly repeatedly. In last 20 days, more than 21 times the prices have hiked. Also the price of other essential commodities are increasing everyday. If situation goes like this it will become hard for common people to even survive."
The CPI have demanded immediate action on extreme price hikes of essential commodities. With that note the agitators have also demanded for monthly 7500 rs for atleast 6 months the poor people who doesn't come under income tax. The also raised voice against the health and corporate department's scam in this crucial pandemic period and demanded strict action against them.
