AGARTALA, June 27 (TIWN): Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Saturday has urged people to follow Bankim Chandra Chatterjee’s footprints in their lives.
CM said this while addressing at Rabindra Bhawan premise on the occasion of 182nd birth anniversary of Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.
“Bankim Chandra Chatterjee has forwarded the Indian culture with glory before the world. I hope, Tripura people will too take part to enrich our culture”, said CM.
After attending the programme, CM tweeted, “Took part in the Birth Anniversary celebration programme of Indian novelist, poet and composer of Vande Mataram, Bankim Chandra Chatterjee at Rabindra Bhavan today morning”.
Bankim Chandra Chatterjee or Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay, CBE was an Indian novelist, poet and journalist. He was the composer of Vande Mataram, originally in Sanskrit stotra personifying India as a mother goddess and inspiring activists during the Indian Independence Movement.
