AGARTALA, June 18 (TIWN): Tripura Transport Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, who came before media after a long period of absence on Thursday was lambasted by a daring question from a senior journalist of the state and when the Minister was asked about his long silence over illegal fare hikes, he was seen in uncomfortable situation. However the Minister instead of accepting Govt's failure has blamed people for “Not Complaining†about Extra Fares to the Govt. The Minister said, ‘Govt can’t take action based on Media Reports’. However, BJP Minister’s ‘Logical Fallacy’ on Illegal Transport Fare Hikes sounded lame in reply to senior journalist Dibakar Debnath at the Secretariat. However, the Minister continued to say, “We saw, we know that fares were illegally hiked in some places, but Govt can’t take action unless public raise voiceâ€. His statement surprised media persons there as there were massive reporting on illegal fare hikes, even the private bus businessmen held press meet announcing that they will take double fares.
After all these, Minister Pranajit Singha Roy said, “It is true that Govt only increases fares, but if public do not complain, what should we do ?”
