Section 144 imposed in border areas of Karbook and Silachhari

UDAIPUR/KARBOOK,November 20 (TIWN): In view of the increased terrorist activities in different parts of the state DM Gomati Sonal Goel imposed section 144 along the Indo – Bangla border at Karbook Sub Division. Section 144 had been made into effect from November 19 and it will be valid upto 28th February 2015 . Villages within 300 meters along the border area will be covered under this.

       In a notice DM Gomati Sonal Goel ordered that from  6 PM to  6 AM gathering of  more than 4 people with in  the restricted areas without prior permission of the concerned authority is not allowed. 
And during this period the common mass have also been restricted from making free movement along the border area without  permission.

However,  the police, security forces and the employees under the state govt living or posted within 300 meters along the international border have been kept out of  such restriction. 
       DM Gomati Sonal Goel told TIWN this evening ," The decision to impose Section 144 has been taken after being recommended by S P Gomati. However, at any time it can be relaxed after reviewing the law and order situation." 
        However, SP Gomati Sankar Debnath told TIWN over phone," We have recommended to impose Section 144 in the bordering areas of Silachhari and Karbook for the next three months. It has been approved by the DM. Recently we have seen the extremists attacking BSF personnel and other people in some parts of the state. Considering this the recommendation has been made." 
       SP Gomati further said that already the police, TSR and BSF are on high alert. He said," As the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Palatana towards the end of this month security personnels are patrolling in all the sensitive areas as well as in bordering areas. As soon as the official confirmation regarding the PM  is communicated  Indo-Bangla border will be sealed. However, if the situation improves there can be relaxation of Section 144." 
       It is to be mentioned here that even at Udaipur police arrested four suspected terrorists including a Bangladeshi along with more than Rs 1 lakh Indian currency and a Bangladeshi Sim Card and a NOKIA handset on Tuesday evening at around 6.45pm near Nabashakti Sangha area.
