UDAIPUR, November 20 (TIWN): Terrorist activities have suddenly risen in different parts of the state and ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Tripura and other North Eastern states this has surely given serious cause for concern for the police and administration. Acting on a secret information police arrested four suspected terrorists at around 6.30pm on Tuesday night from the Nabashakti Sangha area in NH 44. Police got a secret information that four suspected terrorists were coming from Silachhari area in a private car. Accordingly police set a trap to arrest them. At 6.30pm Sub Inspector of Udaipur Traffic Unit Amulya Kumar Bhowmik saw a Maruti Alto car TR03H-0466 coming from Amarpur road and when it reached Nabashakti Sangha near Fulkumari Amulya stopped the car. In it were Shantimoni Chakma(41), S/O-Sunil Chakma of Matiranga, Khagrachhari of Bangladesh, Subhalal Chakma(39)S/O- Jiban Kumar Chakma, Smt Rekha Mog(35),W/O-Subhalal and Smt Mafru Mog(30), W/- Monoj Mog - all from Silachhari under Karbook Sub Division. During the preliminary interrogation when the suspected persons failed to give satisfactory reply, police immediately raided the car and found Rs 1,05,905 Indian currency, a NOKIA mobile handset and a Bangladeshi SIM card.

The accused could not clarify from where they got the money. Immediately they were arrested and taken to Radhakishorepur Police Station. Police registered a Case (Case no-263/14) under Section 121(A) for Suspected terrorist activities against the country, 120(B) Conspiracy against the country, 123,212 of IPC and 3 of the Indian Passport Act(Entry into India).

On Wednesday all the suspected terrorists were produced before CJM Court. Considering the importance of the case Chief Judicial Magistrate Biswajit Palit granted 4 days of police remand against Shantimoni Chakma and Subhalal Chakma and they will again be produced on 24th November. On the other hand, Rekha Mog and Mafru Mog were sent to Judicial Custody up to 1st December.

It is to be mentioned here that Khagrachhari is a terrorist prone area in Bangladesh. And recently due to increased activities of RAB in Bangladesh against the terrorists , a large section of terrorists have entered in the Indian side of the border. And after the arrest of these four suspected terrorists just before Modi's visit , it is suspected that they'might have wanted to create havoc in some parts of the state. Again police also suspect that the money is either wanted to be sent to some arms smugglers or to buy explosives. However, at this moment none of the police personnel want to make any comments. But police and BSF are asked to keep strict vigil. This incident has suddenly given major cause for concern just before PM Modi's visit.
