Agartala, Nov 19 (TIWN): All the ground-works to complete the construction of fly-over from Dropgate to Fire-brigate Chowmohani are almost done, informed Public Works Department (PWD) in a review meeting at conference hall of Civil Secretariat, here today. After reviewing the ongoing construction works of PWD, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar instructed the concerned department to start the establishment of fly-over earliest. Recently the making of detail report on fly-over has been done, PWD informed.
According to the PWD report; construction for an indoor stadium is in progress at Netaji Subash Regional Coaching Centre (NSRCC) in the capital city. The establishment of the indoor stadium is likely to be ended by May, 2015.
The PWD further informed that an English medium college is likely to be constructed at the place of old central jail in Agartala. Now the e-tendering process to set up college is in progress. A MLA hostel will be established at Capital Complex shortly.
Besides, construction for Science City is in progress at Agartala while establishment for a Source Planetarium will be started soon. The Science City will start journey by December, 2015, informed PWD.
The department also confirmed that the retrofitting works of Nirmahal at Melaghar will be finished by June, 2015. After the completion of retrofitting, Nirmahal will be more eye-catching to the tourists.
On the other hand, repairing of different roads including Jirania Railway Station to NIT, Akhuara ICP to NH-44 bypass, Pecharthal to Kanchanpur, Jogendranagar to Takarjala are in progress under PWD.
PWD Minister Badal Chowdhury, Chief Secretary G K Rao, Principal Secretaries Dr. K R Rao, Lok Ranjan and S K Rakesh, Engineer-in-Chief of PWD Sunil Bhowmik, other officials of PWD and Rural Development Department attended the review meeting.
