AGARTALA, MAY 28 (TIWN): 129 stranded people have returned from Bangladesh on Thursday. They were been brought to Akhaura Border via Bus from Bangladesh and crossed the border followed by 'Thermal test'. Indian High Commissioner of Bangladesh Mrs. Riva Ganguly Das was present in the occasion along with MP Pratima Bhowmik. Total 230 people from different Northeastern States like Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya returned from Bangladesh, among them 129 people are from Tripura. They will be in institutional quarantine for 7 days. Few people are still stuck in Bangladesh and the government is trying to bring them back too, Said MP Pratima Bhowmik. She also informed that necessary tests of all the returnees will be done while staying in institutional quarantine.The returnees have thanked the Bangladesh government for their cooperating hand.
