AGARTALA, May 28 (TIWN): Terminated 10323 teachers have condemned Tripura Police’s action against the former teachers by filing FIR against them after they staged protest demanding livelihood. Condemning the FIR against teachers, they have demanded immediate withdrawal of the cases against them, met SP. Addressing media, former teacher Bimal Saha said, “On 12th May, we placed deputation to the Director of Education Dept with our demands. But what was the role of the Home Dept, is highly condemnable. We are teachers, but the Police have lodged FIR against us. We demand in future no such action should be taken against innocent teachers. We are teachers ! We can go to the Dept with our demands but police took inhuman action against us. Teachers are the backbone of the society but what they did is a blot in the democracyâ€. The 10323 teachers have demanded withdrawal of the cases.
Against total 7 former teachers, FIR was lodged and more 17 persons were involved in the deputation programme on 12th May, said Bimal Saha.
