AGARTALA, November 18 (TIWN): In the ongoing 'Statewide Scam Festival of Manik's Tripura', Tripura Road Transport Corporation (TRTC) is likely to make its entry into a massive corruption in Tripura.

A highly placed source of TRTC, said that the central government released fund to Tripura Road Transport Corporation (TRTC) to buy 70 new buses to provide more facilities to the daily commuters.

But till now only 10 buses were owned by the high level officials of Tripura Road Transport Corporation (TRTC). According to the source, most probably the fund for the remaining 60 new buses had been already embezzled by the high level officials of Tripura Road Transport Corporation (TRTC). No one of the department are not raising their voice regarding the issues because all the high level officials of Tripura Road Transport Corporation (TRTC) are under the protection of Melarmath, the source added.

It is to be mentioned here that, at least 1200 pensioners of TRTC are deprived from their gratuity money that rests at Rs 2 crore now. It was during the year 2010, when a meeting at the secretariet decided to pay gratuity money to the 1200 pensioners. But now it has been since 4 years that the 1200 pensioners are suffering, whereas according to the sources among those 1200 deprived pensioners some of them had already expired and  TRTC authority is still playing a role of a silent spectator in regard of paying the pensioners, their gratuity money.  Since the year 2010,  1200 pensioners had asked for their deserved gratuity money, during the time of  A.B. Reang as the Managing Director (MD) of TRTC. At present the MD of TRTC is R.M. Malakar. According to the report,  gratuity money rests at Rs. 2 crore that a total of 1200 pensioners are yet to get. The uninterrupted 21-year stint in power seems to have taken a toll on the financial transparency of the Left Front administration in Tripura.
