AGARTALA, May 23 (TIWN): Tripura Education Minister Ratanlal Nath on Saturday has expressed desire to start schools from June 1st which are left shutdown due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Addressing media here in Secretariat, Minister said, “Education Dept is planning top open schools from 1st day of June but opening schools is not enough. We have to keep preparations for everything and at the beginning only teachers will go to schools till full preparations are done to welcome students”.
“Schools should have enough sanitizers, soap for students, teachers, staffs, also, gloves and other items for the mid-day-meal workers. Thus, we have to take all preparations. First teachers will go to schools. Total numbers of school 4509 and among them 4282 are Govt schools, 46 aided schools, Madras 181”, said Ratanlal Nath.
For all kits, sanitizers etc total expenditure will be – 1.62 crores rupees. All these expenditures will be purchased before students will start arriving.
