KAMALPUR, Nov 18 (TIWN) : Long and uninterrupted regime has turned the leftist Govt. and its departments into dens of negligence, failure, misappropriation and embezzlement.

And this lethergy is not leaving any of the departments. In the case of DWS department, the Annual Report of 2013-2014 of the department has brought out the failure in achievement under NRDWP. Except the cases of ‘Spot Sources’ in each the field the department is lagging far behind.

According to the Department’ annual report, the target for sinking Deep Tube Well was set 214 no.s for 2013-2014. But the department actually achieved 150 nos only at the rate of 83.65%. In the sector of Deep Tube Well commissioning, among the target of 193, the department only achieved 46.07% i.e. 87. In the case of commissioning of Small Bore Deep Tube Well (SBDTW), the achievement is only 72.51%. Among the target of 684, the achievement is 496. With the slogan of providing pure drinking water, the department shamefully lagged behind from achieving the target in setting of IRP(Iron removal plant) with a meager success rate of 38.70%. The department achieved 48 IRPs from the target of 124 IRPs. The success rate far more deteriorate to 15.79% only in the case of SWTP(Surface Water Treatement Plant). The achievement is 03 within the target of 19 in the fiscal. Laying of pipeline achievement is 44.50% i.e. 540.26 km among 1214 km.

However, still the State Govt. trumpets with success saga and astonishingly the corrupt officials and cadres are echoing this voice with utmost strength !
