AGARTALA, May 11 (TIWN): Crime against women are taking worst shape in the society, not leaving even old widows.

In such an incident, an old woman named Mamata Khatun was beaten by local goons in Srinagar under Ananda Nagar area left her half-dead. She was stretched from her home, breaking the tin made boundary walls.

Then her cash rupees were looted from home and beating her severely, the miscreants assumed her as dead and threw her in a near by area.

The local people could identify few miscreants but they escaped.

She was found from (Khudiram Colony) in critical condition and given shelter in a home, but they alleged that police even after was being informed did not take any action immediately which prevented in her immediate treatment.

When media visited, she was still in that home, was not hospitalized.
