AGARTALA, May 10 (TIWN): Tripura's COVID19 active cases continue to rise among the BSF Bn and family. The cases today spiked up to total 148 in spite of Govt's measures. Among new 16 cases, 9 are children, 6 female and 1 official.Chief Minister Biplab Deb via twitter alerted State that 16 more fresh cases were reported in Tripura as COVID19 positive, triggering public caution allover the State. CM tweeted, “16 persons found #COVID19 POSITIVE in Tripura from 86th-Bn #BSF (Official:1, Female:6, Children: 9). We are conducting max number of tests. 75 Samples from 3rd-Bn BSF Kamalpur tested but all reports are NEGATIVE. No Civilian in Dhalai found COVID-19 POSITIVE".
However, behind the cases on spike, there is a reason that maximum numbers of tests are being done, leaving no stone unturned.
Also, civilians are not in the active COVID cases but Govt has continued to sought public cooperation by maintaining lockdown rules to fight COVID19 pandemic.
In 186th Bn on May 1st, two positive cases were reported first. COVID-19 has caused 2109 Deaths in the country and the numbers of Active Cases are : 41472.
As soon as the two persons were taken to GB hospital, Health Dept brought suspected COVID-Positive persons in quarantine immediately. From then, maximum tests started resulting various positive cases.

It was the same place where on May 1st, two positive cases were reported from 186th Bn. The many among 86th Bn were also tested positive and right now, 2 battalions are infected in COVID19.
Tripura Govt on the other side, directed BSF IG to provide information about COVID19 patients and cases. The information was sought for : 1) The origin of the cases, 2) Steps taken by BSF authorities to further prevent spread of Corona virus to general public.
Totaling all, Tripura now has 148 active cases.
