AGARTALA, May 10 (TIWN): Coronavirus's spreading techniques related confusions have hit the Agartala city for last 2 days. After people demanded action against Bats point in MBB College area, attacking Kota returned family to leave area at Indranagar, now the locals of Goyala Basti created unprecedented panic centering a nearby COVID19 treatment centre in Bhagat Singh Youth hostel which was recently opened with the massive spike of the disease in state. All happened due to ignorance and lack of awareness among the people. SDM Ashim Saha condemned public's activity saying, “What were they doing was totally against the lockdown rules. The mob gathering can also become dangerous for future. The people who protested, can they guarantee that they do not Coronavirus disease ? If any of them, by chance is positive, today all would be infected !†The mob also stone pelted on police, led police to impose lathi-charge which caused few minor injuries.
SDM Ashim Saha further said, “When police, doctors are working amid so risks, such people, sitting at homes are feeling insecure. How selfish activity they are doing without any physical distancing ? Tension is there..... it is fact, but can they break social distance rules like this ?”

SDM also said that the Treatment centre is 200 metre far away from the agitating area.
“Somewhere treatment centre will be made but if people continue to do like this, we have to take action”, said SDM.

Local MLA Dr Dilip Das also rushed to the spot and talked to the locals. He said, such activities are unacceptable, mentioning yesterday’s Indranagar incident, where local MLA Sudip Barman had to visit after locals were forcing a family returned from Rajasthan’s Kota to leave the area.
A woman and few agitators received minor injuries in police lathi-charge.
