AGARTALA, May 8 (TIWN): Excise Dept has brought a shop under action after the shop-keeper charged sellers extra than the actual price during 3.0 lockdown starting day and thus it was closed at least for 7 days with further actions on Friday.
The shop keeper however has alleged injustice was done to him, accusing the Dept for not giving any prior notice. He also denied the charge of extra price and said, a person my mistake was charged higher but later he was pay off.
The violator shop-keeper has been identified Ashok Kumar Roy, a liquor seller in Agartala. His shop No is 2 in Hawkers Corner, Agartala.

Excise dept SP said that any such activity of charging customers higher than the MRP will cost the shop with heavy actions.
Also, the dept has warned all the businessmen to keep the MRP price from customers.
Addressing media Sabyasachi Singh, SP Excise Dept said that these shops are opened under Govt's protocols and any violator will be brought under action. If law permits, his license will be cancelled. Excise inspector also visited his shop. The liquor shops are opened from 11 am to 5 pm. Long queues were seen before the liquor shops on Monday and even today on Tuesday. With MHA ordering relaxations, liquor shops have been opened up across the country but with some strict guidelines of social distancing.
