AGARTALA, May 4 (TIWN): Lockdown 3.0 phase began with considerable relaxations in various sectors and Tripura Govt offices started functioning normally, thus, in office hours crowd increased on road. Specially two wheelers were seen highest on highways to reach offices, whereas unexpected gathering before liquor shops amid 14 active cases in state. As the government offices in Tripura has started functioning normally from today, in office times, bikers were seen at maximum on road who were going to the offices. Law Minister Ratanlal Nath said that Tripura is a part of India and thus is following Govt of India’s rules, which were ruled in sectors after discussions with experts. According to the Home Ministry, activities prohibited throughout the country, irrespective of the zones are: air, rail, metro travel; inter-state movement by road; schools, colleges, and other educational, training and coaching institutions; hospitality services, including hotels and restaurants. TIWN visited major bus stand areas like Nagerjala in Agartala, seen a totally halted situation there.

 The country has been divided in three zones -- Red, Orange and Green - based on coronavirus risk-profiling. The extended lockdown is slated to last till May 17.

So, the third phase of the countrywide lockdown begins Monday with "considerable relaxations", but curbs will continue in containment areas so that the gains achieved so far in the fight against Covid-19 are not "squandered away".

Govt has called for a total social distancing maintenance in any area with masks wearing mandatory. Also, sanitization of people have taken place in various places wherever a person is entering from outside including the shops.

Total 14 BSF Jawans were tested positive in Tripura's Ambassa 138 Bn camp. State Govt is yet clueless about the virus’s primary source, as the jawans were residing in this state only. 

Opposition Congress Demands CBI investigation in COVID19 Positive cases in BSF Camp

Congress President Pijush Biswas on Monday while addressing media at Congress state headquarter at Post Office Chowmuhani, Agartala, expressed concerns about whether any illegal entry form Bangladesh happened recently and came in contact with the BSF jawans, as the BSF jawans were all in state from a long time and question does not arise that the virus came from other states.Biswas also raised question on BSF’s role who allegedly filed a false case against a journalist recently for covering illegal trade over borders.Pijush Biswas also said, from various sources it has been known that illegal entries are continuing in state via Indo-Bangla border.Thus, Congress has demanded a CBI probe in that whole case. 

Opposition CPI-M condemns BJP party led attacks in relief distribution programmes

Expressing surprises over the ongoing attacks in relief distribution programme of the opposition, former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said that when everyone is joining hands with the Govt and trying to get into a joint fight against COVID19, in a surprise from CPI-M to Congress, opposition parties workers are attacked by ruling BJP. Also those who are receiving oppositions’ reliefs are not given MGNREGA, TUEP works. Sarkar condemned the trend calling such activities are parts of uncivilized society.

Govt beefed up Securities and Checking as COVID19 precautions

Centering BSF Jawans’ massive positive reports in Tripura, high alerts are sounded across the 138 Bn camp in Ambassa, where the patients were living before admitted in hospital. Sources informed at least 3 km areas at there under high alerts like red-zone. State Govt also has beefed up checking and screening temperature of people who are entering the state with trucks or other vehicles. Tripura Govt already tightened Churaibari Checkpost and sample collection started long before the fresh 12 cases were reported. Now Health Dept and Police are in joint effort to take measurements to prevent COVID19 outbreak.Police across the state are engaged in checking gathering and busting any unnecessary travels. "CM Biplab Deb has talked to Prime Minister Modi after 12 positive cases were found on yesterday", said Law Minister Ratanlal Nath. Chief Minister Biplab Deb also has urged people to stay in homes, as this is the biggest help the public can do to its State and its State Govt.
