AGARTALA, April 28 (TIWN): Tripura’s terminated 10323 teachers have demanded alternative livelihood by May month or said, they will start protest programme again. The 10323 teachers were recruited in 2009-10 and were terminated in High Court and later Supreme Court’s orders although High Court earlier asked the then Govt to save 10323 teachers’ careers by providing jobs to the petitioners who were deprive of their jobs. But when challenged High Court’s order, Supreme Court also upheld Tripura High Court’s order and termination thus was ordered. In between, before election, the then opposition BJP which now in power had promised to solve 10323 teachers’ crisis permanently which has erupted now protests as teachers were sacked on March 31st under Supreme Court’s order. Right now, 10323 teachers are jobless although State Govt has appealed in Supreme Court to get permission to recruit 10323 teachers in non-teaching posts.
Various protests at the onset of lockdown period held by 10323 teachers which have now resulted in legal actions.
Police have taken a case against few 10323 teachers for making gathering on 20th March in front of Rabindra Bhawan, said a 10323 teacher to media when a group of teachers visited West Agartala Police station.
Few of those teachers today visited West Agartala Police Station and met OC. Teacher Bimal Saha’s name is among the notice receivers.

Talking to media, the teachers said, the case bearing is number : WS/188/170 IPC. For its clarification, the teachers met the OC.
Around 7 teachers are reportedly received legal notice from police.
