AGARTALA, April 26 (TIWN): After 5 persons had returned from Chennai via ambulance in last week in Tripura, more 3 persons now have been kept in Home Quarantine as these fresh 3 new persons also came by road via ambulance. They came on yesterday night 11 PM after staying there for 1 month, said an official. It has costed them Rs. 1.30 lakhs. On being asked by media, returned Samir Rishi Das said, the full payment of the ambulance charge has not been done but they are trying to paying it off. The family, located at Gol Bazar area went to Chennai for treatment but due to lockdown, they could not return in state, But with patient, it turned impossible for them to live there, compelled them to return amid heavy charges.

He also said that Tripura Govt is helping the stuck people at there but still they are in very pathetic situation and all want to come back. Govt is providing rations and financial helps to them but the situation is very complex due to lockdown.

If a person is staying in a hotel and goes out of the hotel for sometimes, s/he is not allowed to reenter the hotel. In such situations, the family was bound to return. The body temperature of the returned persons were checked which was normal.

Govt officials told locals, not to spread rumours and they are in quarantine just because they returned from other state, covering a long journey and if any help needed, people must help them by keeping social distances.

The expenditure of quarantine to be taken care by the administration, so that the family don't have to move outside home.

The local Gol Bazar committee was also informed about the family and whatever help is needed, will be given.

The three persons are : Nantu Paul, Manti Paul, Samir Rishi Das. They went to Apollo hospital, Chennai. Total 5 days took for them to return Tripura.

The Previous similar incidents : Earlier, more five persons, including two ailing women, from two families reached Tripura from Chennai by road in an ambulance, travelling over 3,700 km amid the nationwide lockdown.

Former Deputy Director of Tripura government, Chanchal Majumder, along with his wife Asima Biswas and Sukumar Bhowmik, a police officer, accompanied by his wife Nandini Bhowmik and a relative went to Tamil Nadu on March 20 for their wives'' treatment at a private hospital in Chennai. As per the health protocols in place for the coronavirus pandemic, Majumder and his wife are now under institutional quarantine in Udaipur in southern Tripura, while the Bhowmik family has been kept in home quarantine at Mohanpur in western Tripura.Majumder said that during their five-day trip from Chennai to Tripura, they underwent medical screening at more than 10 inter-state borders and security checks at more than 50 places.
