COVID19 : Tripura Govt orders Tests of all Home Quarantined people, till now No Positive Case detected

AGARTALA, April 21 (TIWN): Massive testing process goes on in Tripura amid COVID19 Pandemic worldwide. Leaving no stone unturned, Tripura Health dept continues methods development on COVID19 tests. AMC is also taking initiative for rapid testing and Govt of Tripura has ordered tests of all Home Quarantined people. Swab testing kits also have arrived in Tripura, are being used as testing process. Already before this, in local methods, the Health Dept held various tests and random testing of 2000 people are being taken place. Tripura earlier tested total 2 COVId19 positive patients and both are stable. Asymptomatic patients will be compulsorily quarantined for 14 days, but their swab test will not be collected immediately. Instead, samples of those in quarantine will be collected between the fifth and 14th day, if they develop symptoms.Recently, team of researchers has developed a low-cost indigenous prototype of polymer swab which can be used for collection of samples for coronavirus testing.

If it is approved for production, the country will not need to depend on imported swabs, said Dr Milind Kulkarni, a senior polymer scientist with Pune-based Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET) on Saturday. 

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb explained in detail about the sectors where works are being allowed maintaining the social distance, lockdown guidelines and government's do's & don’t.

According to Deb, the industrial units and establishments would be allowed to operate include manufacturing of fertilisers, pesticides, and animal feeds, essential goods including drugs, IT hardwares, seeds, works in tea gardens, rubber and bamboo plantations, processing, packaging, rural and food processing industries, sale and marketing of tea, coffee, rubber, cashew, production of coal and minerals, refineries, oil and gas exploration, and brick kilns with maximum of 50 per cent workers.
