AGARTALA , April 17 (TIWN): Tripura's performance in handling COVID19 crisis so far yielded successful outcomes as 1st patient fully recovered, discharged from GB Hospital, 2nd patient recovering steadily. Chief Minister Biplab Deb, Health Secretary Dr. Debashis Basu, Doctors, Nurses deciated service continues. DGP Rajiv Singh led Tripura Police force continues enforcing social distancing. undertaken various relief mission in State's interior place. Union Health Ministry in a Press briefing said that total number of cases nearing 14,000, but doubling time of COVID-19 cases dropped to 6.2 days over the past week, as compared to three days before the nationwide lockdown. In the last 24 hours, 1,076 new cases and 32 deaths were reported, taking the total to 13,835 cases, including 1,766 recoveries and 452 deaths. While Maharashtra continues to be the worst-affected state with 194 deaths, Indore in Madhya Pradesh has become India’s most worrisome hotspot.ICMR ( Indian Council of Medical research) said three strains of the virus have been detected in India so far. Tripura’s COVID19 first Patient recovered fully.The first patient of COVID19 from Udaipur, a 45 years old woman was discharged from GB Hospital allowing to go home.

After her discharge, Chief Minister Biplab Deb tweeted, “Glad to share that first #COVID19 positive patient of Tripura has been discharged today, as she has recovered and found negative in consecutive tests. She has been sent for institutional quarantine for 14 days under medical supervision at Udaipur. I Pray to Mata Tripurasundari so that State turns Corona free soon”. Total 2 persons were tested positive in COVID19, whereas the other person always was asymptomatic and stable. Both the patients shared same travel history via Tripura Sundari train landed on 19th March. She travelled to Guwahati and returned state via Tripura Sundari train. Udaipur woman tested positive first on April 6 and was admitted in GB hospital and with same travel history all were put in quarantine. So far except these two persons, all are negative. Health Dept of Tripura has done a commendable job amid limited infrastructure and in time all transportations were brought under control by Govt of Tripura.

Health Dept has taken up various other tasks as Tripura Health Dept is conducting a random checking of samples of 10% of the population within 1 km of the infected COVID19 Patients last residence.

Since COVID19 case was detected in Udaipur, Udaipur town was brought under strict observations. With the first COVID Positive patient was detected, emergency alerts had been given across the Udaipur subdivision, where the patient stayed in home since return from Guwahati on 19th March via Tripura Sundari train. This is the first positive case found inside Tripura, had generated tension across state.

COVID19 Second patient is also Stable and Healthy.

The COVID19 positive 32 years old TSR Jawan from Madhya Pradesh most likely visited his home and was returning via Tripura Sundari train, which landed in Tripura on 19th March, 2020, suspected as the main carrier of the virus. Since he landed in Dharmanagar Railway Station he was in TSR cam but as soon as the first COVID19 Patient was admitted and Health started screening of all patients, with others, the person was in quarantine.

The train which travelled from Guwahati on 19th March, 2020 had tested the first corona-virus patient on April 6 and today after 4 days another patient was found who travelled via same train.

Right now, Tripura’s NTH-2 Block of AGMC and GBP Hospital, Agartala is being notified as dedicated COVID Hospital (DCH).

Tripura Police continues herculean task of enforcing social distancing Statewide, Police Jawans in various interior places undertaken relief missions with foodgrains, medial items transporation, distribution among public.
