AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, April 17 (TIWN): Sanitization drive across crowded or containment areas and high risk areas started in Tripura in full swing. CRPF Jawans took a lead role in the drive, helped the workers with sanitation on Friday. Already Urban areas, Rural bodies’ high risk areas brought under regular spray programme of disinfectants, after the Govt launched a massive sanitation drive in the state’s Covid-19 containment areas. Till now total 2 persons were tested positive in Tripura in COVID19 and both the patients’ residential areas brought under high alerts and those areas were also sanitized. Now, sanitizing will be mandatory as slowly in roster system Govt and Private offices also to be opened in Tripura where Centre has given guidelines to properly sanitize the office areas and masks to be mandatory for the workers or any common man. After 20th April, Tripura likely to get many relaxations which would expand the sanitizing process at major quantity.In Tripura till now sample collection recorded with 865 persons and total sample tested 762, sample positive 2 and negative 760. Prescribed masks are now mandatory for health care officials. 2000 people will be tested in Tripura by 21st April.
Today, with Coronavirus disease outbreak, in a massive awareness drive, Tripura petrol pumps have made masks mandatory to enter in the fuel stations. Banners are seen displayed with phrase of ‘No Mask, No Petrol’.This development came after Centre and State Govts both made masks / face covers mandatory for the people. So, people here are entering with masks, taking petrol and then leaving in disciplined manner, which has caught media attention.
Out of the total 2 positive tests, one person in institutional quarantine at Udaipur and the other patient is under treatment. Both the patients are enough stable.
Apart from that, Community level testing will be taken place by 21/4/2020 for 2000 people and rapid anti-body tests will be undertaken at Udaipur and Damchara centering 1 km area of the both patients residential points (High Alert Zones). Out of total population, 10% people will be tested.
