UDAIPUR, April 15 (TIWN): In a shocking display of misusing power, a TSR Jawan brutally beaten an innocent bike rider at ‘Sonamura Chowmuhani’ Udaipur. In spite of bike rider’s begging to let him go, but TSR Jawan used sticks to beat him all over back to his head causing injuries on the eve of Bengali New Year day. Between morning 9.30 to 11am this incident took place in front of ‘Ojachok Motor’ shop on National Highway, Udaipur. In spite of dedicated service by 90% of Tripura Police & TSR Jawans, this display of brutality not only illegal but exposed lack of discipline in force. The boy was seen carrying items for his family after shopping but instead of listening him, the TSR started hitting him, punishing him on spot as nobody was on road. On Bengali New Year ahead, people went to buy items for households and this boy was also doing the same but without listening the version of reason from the biker, the TSR jawan mercilessly beaten him which is grossly illegal. Total 12 hits were counted with one on his head by the police personnel.
But local people from far recorded the incident, released in social media which has shocked the netizens. Few have later claimed that it was not on New Year but one or two days back, but the incident is fact.

This is not an isolated incident but statewide earlier also, similar incidents taken place.
Police cannot beat anyone, its highly illegal, Police can arrest, Police can produce an accused in court but Police cannot punish anyone by using brutal force.
Whereas nationwide Tripura Police are praised for their hardworks, recently various photos of TSR jawans carrying food for poor went viral in social media from deep ADC areas, a little section of police in town areas continues to be violent.
Agartala Police in last two days, have shown, how to maintain the markets even without beating a single person. The Access Control Gate and rows in front of bazars with 1 metre distance have successfully maintained the social distance.
But on the other side, in TSR jawans brutality in Udaipur, overuse of power only defames the Police Dept, alongwith snatching people’s basic democratic rights, even which has been given by Govt during lockdown.
