AGARTALA, November 14 (TIWN): The prime accused of 50 crore MGNREGA scam in Bishalgarh RD Block scamster Bimal Chakraborty will be produced before the SDJM Court on November 18, after spending 14 days of jail custody. But till date the police dept unable to arrest the remaining 11 involved persons in the MGNREGA multicrore scam of Bishalghar RD Block. Earlier Bimal Chakraborty was sent to 5 days of police remand twice.According to police sources, till now police are unable to collect any vital information regarding the 50 crore MGNREGA scam from Bimal Chakraborty during the interrogation(?). In the name of interrogation police are taking special care of scamster Bimal due to his close relation with CM, the source added.However general speculation is that, Bimal's powerful brothers DYFI Secretary Amal Chakraborty, TSR Commandant Kamal Chakraborty, Prof Shyamal Chakraborty and Godfather Manik will save him from this "temporary misery". Scamster BDO Bimal also considered as an intellectual and poet by his corrupt patronizers in CPIM Party and Government, he translated former Chief Secretary S.K.Panda' s book "one plus one equals to eleven" in Bengali.

It is to be mentioned here that, Bimal surrendered before the Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court on October 23rd last. The Court sent him to five days police remand.

A section of public has marked the surrender of Bimal as a “got up” match between police and Bimal. Earlier, Scamster Bimal was suspended from the post of Deputy Director of ICA department by the state government after getting immense pressure from the media, different political parties and public.

Under instruction from top brass, the incumbent Block Development Officer (BDO) of Bishalgarh, Subrata Das, registered an FIR against his predecessor and incumbent Assistant Director of Information Department, Bimal Chakraborty and 11 others, the source mentioned. The alleged scam in MGNREGA fund and a few other Central flagship projects have occurred during past two financial years, according to the report of State audit bureau. 

In the Bimal Chakraborty case it is also clear that without the clearance(?) given from the current Finance Minister Bhanu Lal Saha cannot be ignored as without his permission not a brick is shifted to anywhere in Bishalgarh.

       And corrupt BDO Bimal Chakraborty's influence due to his brother cum DYFI state committee Secretary Amal Chakraborty is so much that even the police officials in Bishalgarh police station do not hesitate to say that they don't know the mobile number of Investigation Officer's name. Interestingly IO in this case is Officer In charge of the P S Kanti Lal Baidya. is it possible that a subordinate staffs won't know the mobile no  of the OC ?  When TIWN called, Why would O C Kanti Lal Baidya said," If you want to know anything about the names of the accused, you may consult with Police Headquarters(PHQ)? Is it an attempt to suppress the truth or an attempt to act as per instruction of CPI(M) party?

     Bisalgarg P.S. Officer-In-Charge Kanti Lal Baidya's father Late Anil Baidya of Jolaibari was one of the most influential CPI(M) party leaders in the South Tripura District. And Kanti Lal too is acting as he is instructed by his 'political Dadas'. So certainly Kani Lal and all comrades in Police are treating BDO Bimal like a VIP.

Now, unless Tripura's Home Minister asks Police to arrest the remaining 11 other scamsters, Tripura's " President Colour" awardeee Police force will not dare to arrest them.
