AGARTALA, April 10 (TIWN): The Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) imposition in Tripura amid COVID19 pandemic has erupted political tension in state.
The opposition CPI-M Party has triggered massive criticism about the Govt’s decision.
The controversy erupted as soon as Chief Minister Biplab Deb tweeted, “In order to better manage #COVID-19 outbreak in the interest of citizens, from today the Government has implemented the Essential Services Management Act (ESMA) with immediate effect in Tripura”.
CPI-M has thrown a question to the Govt, although ESMA will collect works from health staffs but whether ESMA can collect ‘service’ from those health staffs for patients ?
On yesterday two top CPI-M leaders gave separate statements condemning the ESMA implementation in state.
MP Govt has also invoked the same law in state.
