AGARTALA (NORTHEAST NOW): Congress leader Gopal Roy, who filed an FIR against chief minister Biplab Deb on Saturday for spreading ‘fake news’ , has alleged that he was ‘harassed, and intimidated’ on Sunday by the state police.

Tripura Congress president Piyush Biswas, a leading advocate, and top party leader Subal Bhowmick were prevented from entering Roy’s house.  Even journalists were not allowed to meet Roy.  “Gopal Roy was threatened with dire consequences by the policemen and asked to withdraw the FIR immediately,” a Congress leader said.  Journalists carrying the news were also threatened and asked to stop any coverage of Gopal Roy’s FIR.
