COVID-19 : CPI-M MLAs to donate 25% of their salaries for 3 months to CM relief fund

AGARTALA, March 3 (TIWN): In a humanitarian move, Tripura opposition CPI-M MLAs have announced to donate their salaries 25% to the Chief Minister’s relief fund for 3 months to help the Govt to fight COVID-19 jointly.
Already in cheques, today they have donated their promised amount by meeting the Chief Secretary, as they could not meet the Chief Minister.
In a press meet at Melarmath Party headquarter CPI-M former Minister, MLA Tapan Chakraborty told media.
March, April, May months’ salaries to be given which will be around Rs. 80,000 each.
COVID pandemic has hit the Northeast region recently causing 24 positive cases. Two Tripura men were also tested positive but they are in Rajasthan.
