AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, April 3 (TIWN): To battle against the starvation chances in Northeast state Tripura with outbreak of deadly virus, which has snatched poor people's livelihood via much needed national lockdown, Umakanta Academy Alumni donated essential commodities to poor via the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC).
Meeting personally with AMC Commissioner Saliesh Yadav, these food commodities were given. The distributed commodities were like mustered oil, soya-chunk, milk, potato, biscuit, turmeric.
Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Commissioner Sailesh Yadav today has informed media that around 2000 migrant labourers, people without ration cards here were provided 7 days ration and more around 1500 people will be given by today and tomorrow.
Yadav was addressing media after Umakanta Alumni led donation programme to AMC and it was said that anyone can donate in kind to AMC to help the poor. Credible items like milk, soya chunks, rice, daal, oil etc. In last 2 – 3 days total around 2000 people were given with cooked and dry ration items.
