PALATANA/UDAIPUR, November 13 (TIWN): Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Tripura to inaugurate the Commercial Generation(COG) from Unit-II(363.3mw) of OTPC’s 726.6MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine(CCGT) Thermal Power plant Chief Minister Manik Sarkar today visited the plant site along with PWD Minister Badal Chowdhury, Power Minister Manik Dey, Forest Minister Naresh Jamatia, Sports Minister Sahid Chowdhury, DWS Minister Ratan Bhowmik and Home(Jail) Minister Manindra Reang.Straight way Chief Minister went to meet OTPC MD S K Dube, OTPC, new MD Satyajit Ganguly ( who has already arrived will join as new MD from 1st December) held a fifteen minutes closed door meeting with them along with other ministers and officials . After this the delegation went to the probable site for inauguration.Chief Minister was also accompanied by Chief Secretary G Kameswara Rao, In-Charge DGP K Nagraj and IG(Law & Order) Anurag Dhyankar and 9 MLAs. Chief Minister and other ministers, MLAs and high officials visited the plant at 3pm.

MLAs namely Madhab Saha, Ramendra Narayan  Debbarma, Basudeb Majumder, Sudhan Das, Tapan Das, Rita Kar,  Keshab Debbarma, Jashabir Tripura and Prabhat Chowdhury also visited the plant site. DM Gomati Sonal Goel , DM Sipahijala Prasanta Goel DM South N K Noatia, SP Gomati Sankar Debnath, SDM Udaipur Ajit Debnath Sbhadhipati of Dakshin Tripura Zila Parishad Duniti Saha and South Tripura Zila Parishad Himangshu Roy were also present there during this visit. 

After this the delegation  went to the probable site for inauguration. The CM, CS, DG IC, IG(L&O) other ministers and OTPC MD S K Dube talked in details with  police high officials about the public gathering . Chief Minister Manik Sarkar told the press," There will be a public gathering inside the plant site where Prime Minister will address after inaugurating the Commercial Generation. " It has been decided that a new stage will be constructed near the Security Building for the inaugural programme. Last year when the President of India Pranab Mukharjee inaugurated the COG from Unit-I the stage was constructed on the roof of the Security Building. But this time the stage will be a new one for Narendra Modi's rally. But now it is confirmed that Prime Minister's rally will be held inside the project site. At around 4pm Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, IC DG and IG( Law & Order) left for Agartala.    

But at 4pm a high level meeting was held in the Conference Room of Dakshin Tripura Zila Parishad . The meeting was attended by PWD Minister Badal Chowdhury, Power Minister Manik Dey, Forest Minister Naresh Jamatia, Sports Minister Sahid Chowdhury, DWS Minister Ratan Bhowmik and Home ( Jail) Minister Manindra Reang. All 9 MLAs of Gomati, South and Sipahijala districts, DM South , DM Gomati and DM Sipahijala, all SDMs of Sipahijala and South Tripura and Gomati as well as Sabhadhipati of Gomati and South Tripura Zila Parishad . All the high officials of PWD,TSECL, DWS, Police, Health, ICA and other line departments also remained present on this meeting. After the meeting Power Minister Manik Dey told TIWN," As of now the final date has not been confirmed from the PMO. We hope that the programme will be held inside the  plant. A gathering of 50000 people will be arranged. " However, it is learnt from a highly placed source that PMO wants the programme to be arranged on 30th November. But the state govt has requested the  PMO to arrange the Prime Minister's visit on 1st December as November 30th being a Sunday.
