AGARTALA, March 30 (TIWN): Tripura’s 10323 teachers who were promised by the BJP before election to get a secure livelihood, few BJP promised job continuation and few leaders promised reappointment are now roaming doors to doors like vagabonds but due to Corona-Virus outbreak and lockdown announcement, the teachers could not meet the Education Director today. The 10323 teachers said that they will go to school from April 1st and hoping that Govt will not stop them. The teachers were terminated by High Court and Supreme Court due to irregularities in the recruitment process but on that time when the Left was in power, BJP sought 10323 teachers sympathy and promised to solve their problems permanently, giving them total justice.

After coming in power, BJP Govt continued to promise them asking them to hold patience and Law Minister Ratanlal Nath said if he stays “alive” till 31st March, 2020 then 10323 teachers will get a positive response.

But for long 2 years, the Govt didn’t take any such decision according to the pre-poll promises and now nobody is meeting teachers due to Lockdown whereas according to Supreme Court’s guidelines, teachers will lose their jobs by 2020 31st March.

Today the teachers came to meet Education Director U.K.Chakma but could not meet as due to Corona Virus he is not meeting anyone. (However, the Education Director is not responsible for 10323 teachers issue as it was the party in power which promised the 10323 to Solve-their-Problems).

Report said, Tripura Govt did not appeal to extend 10323 teachers jobs after 31st March. According to news report on the ad-hoc extension, Court has not said anything neither from Govt side, anything was appealed. After 31st March, the jobs of 10323 teachers will not exist. Although in Assembly, Education Minister Ratanlal Nath promised to appeal in Supreme Court for 10323 teachers’ ad-hoc extension but practically nothing was done, said a local newspaper.

On March 24, Supreme Court led terminated Tripura’s 10323 teachers’ had demanded 3 months extension permission from the Supreme Court as due to Corona-Virus outbreak everything is at halt.

Also, a deputation was placed by the teachers in this regard to the higher authority.

Teachers said, they think Supreme Court will surely permit that as across India relaxations are given for this deadly disease including Court matters, but nothing was reported positively.

On the other side, till now 51 among 10323 teachers died unnaturally or out of tension in Job related crisis situation.
