State gear up to celebrate Childrens Day on Nov 14

Agartala, November 13 (TIWN): Preparation on a peak here at Agartala to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, popularly known as “Childrens Day.”Like every year both the State Government and opposition will arrange special programmes in their own way to celebrate this auspicious occasion.

Government programmes will be held at Umakanta Mini Stadium at morning. After that “symbol of peace”, pigeon will be flown away to the sky. As a tribute to this great man Jawaharlal Nehru and his love for the children, his birthday is celebrated all over the Nation as children’s day. Most of the schools will stage cultural programmes for the day, with the students participation.

Children's Day is a day for children to engage in fun and frolic. Schools celebrate this day by organizing cultural programmes. Teachers of the school perform songs and dances for their students. 

On the other hand,Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) will observe the 125th Birth Anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in the different parts of the state with dignity and fervour on November 14 and 15. The main programme would be staged at the Congress Bhavan premises. To mark the occasion, various programme initiatives have been taken by the TPCC.

As part of the programme, a mega sit and draw competition was conducted at the auditorium of MTB Girls School, here today. Altogether 350 contestants in 4 groups have participated in the competition. With the support of Tripura Nationalists Artists’ Forum, this competition was conducted.

TPCC communiqué informed that all the participants will get prizes in a cultural programme at Congress Bhavan premises on November 13. Besides, first seven place holders from each group will get trophy, he said. Tripura opposition Leader- Sudip Roy Barman, TPCC working president- Ashis Saha, Youth Congress president- Susanta Chowdhury, Kalyani Chowdhury, Vicky Prasad including other TPCC leaders and members and guardians remained present. 

It is to be mentioned here that children's day, falls on November 14th every year and for good reason. Children's day in India is celebrated on Pandit Nehru's birthday as a day of fun and frolic, a celebration of childhood, children and Nehruji's love for them.
