Agartala, Nov 13 (TIWN): A delegation of All Tripura Auto-rickshaw Workers’ Association Thursday placed deputation to the Motor Vehicle Senior Inspector- Bijay Debbarma seeking 8-point charter of demands.
Over 250 members of the association conducted a rally from Motor Stand and traversed different streets of the Capital city- Agartala. The rally was ended at the office of Joint Transport Commissioner.
A 5-member delegation led by general secretary of the association- Swapan Dey wanted to submit deputation to the Transport Minister through Joint Commissioner of Transport Department but he was absent. As a result, the delegation placed the memorandum to the Senior Inspector of Motor Vehicle- Bijay Debbarma.
The 8-point charter of demands of the association is; Fine of Rs. 3000 for new CNG registration should be stopped. Extended price of CNG has to be withdrawn immediately. Rules and regulations for the renewal of documents must be ensured. Number of CNG filling stations in the state should be increased. Political interference in case of providing demurrage to 15 years older auto-rickshaws should be stopped. Issuing fine for the renewal of old permit should be stopped. Auto-rickshaw fare should be hiked and closing of fitness for the valid auto-rickshaw marking them punching should not be entertained.
