PALATANA/UDAIPUR/AGARTALA,November 13 (TIWN): Today, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar will be visiting Udaipur ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to OTPC plant on December 1 regarding the inauguration of Commercial Generation from Unit-II. A highly placed sources in district administration said that as per official information received Manik Sarkar will starightway go to Palatana at 2.30pm alongwith high level officials of police and administration . On his first visit to the North Eastern states Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate the second unit of the 726 MW gas based thermal power project at Palatana in Gomati district, Tripura. The second unit of Palatana will be operational soon. Beside Chief Minister Manik Sarkar scheduled to visit Palatana OTPC site along with the officials on November 13 ahead of PM Modi’ visit.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar held a high level meeting on wednesday to review the prospective visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the state at the end of the month, sources said here today.Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the second unit of the 726 MW gas based thermal power project at Palatana in Gomati district on Dec 1 during his four days Northeast visit scheduled to start from Nov 29 next.

Officials stated that the Chief Minister's meeting was attended by all top bureaucrats of both civil and police administration and his cabinet colleagues to finalize the program venue and other related issues and decided that Chief Minister Manik Sarkar himself is going to visit Palatana on November 13 to oversee the preparation. CM Manik Sarkar during the meeting also urged the officials to remain present at the Palatana OTPC site within 1:30pm, whereas CM will visit the site after he ends his party meeting at Sonamura on November 13.  

ONGC Tripura Power Company, the main stakeholder of Palatana project has invited Prime Minister to inaugurate 363 MW capacity second unit during his upcoming Northeast visit. Though the exact date of Modi's visit is not yet finalised, administration is proceeding to host the event on Nov 30 next, said officials.

According to report, upon arrival on Nov 29 at Guwahati next Modi has scheduled to hold meeting with Director General of Police (DGPs) and Inspector General of Police (IGPs) besides, interaction with the Chief Ministers of eight Northeastern states. On the next day, he has a schedule to inaugurate Manipur Sangai festival at Imphal and Tripura government is trying to fix up Prime Minister's visit on the day in Udaipur. On Dec 1 next he has a schedule to inaugurate Hornbill festival at Kohima and followed by visiting Arunachal Pradesh and he is programmed to leave for Delhi on Dec 2 next. However, officials added that the administration has not yet finalised the venue of Modi's program at Palatana because there is no such big space available, which can accommodate more than 5000 people.

However, but it is to be mentioned here that the Left front government in Tripura is attempted to please Mr. Modi during his state visit, as allegation of corruptions, scam tainted administration, misuse of centrally sponsored funds like NRHM, RMSA, reduction of MGNREGA scheme to 15 rural development blocks out of 68 and exerting pressure on the states to increase internal revenue put Manik Sarkar government in serious trouble. 

After the Palatana plant Chief Minister Manik Sarkar will also visit the possible places for public rally to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Only on Tuesday IG (Law &Order)Anurag Dhyankar, Chief Engineer PWD Sunil Bhowmik, ICA Director Santanu Das, DM Gomati Sonal Goel ,SP Gomati Sankar Debnath and others visited the OPTC plant.The officials also visited Jamjuri H S School field, KBI field, ONGC Officers quarters land in Baishnabir Char ,Swiimng Pool field Udaipur Girls H S School. No final confirmation is yet arrive about PMs visit. But already OPTC & state govt has decided to be prepared about everthing . This year as the Prime Minister is still on foreign land, govt of India will make the announcement after the PM reached India. After the the current insurgency , centre is looking forward in different regarding  security groups of Tripura in this. After this crucial inspection visit CM is likely to have a high level official meeting in the conference room of DM Gomati.

     Due to continuous pressure from either side the date will be made final by DM Gomati about Clean  India Movement as part. Meanwhile Unit-II has started to produce generation from Unit-II . The Seal Oil Pump motor has already been replaced. And during any emyal During  day time around 60-70,mw power is being expected to produce from Gas Turbine. It is however not known when the SPG officials were all arrive. Even on Tuesday BHEL produces 70MW and provided  to north  easyern power grid. Once CCGT mode operates successfully BHEL will immediately declare the unit-II ready for inaugurationm . Apart from of final inauguration, Modi is likely to meet some opposition party leaders as well.
