AGARTALA, March 18 (TIWN): 10323 teachers have continued agitation demanding livelihood as just 13 days ahead of their termination, the BJP Govt could not find out any solution for them yet. Indeed, BJP Govt’s role remained just opposite of their pre-election roles. Although BJP before the election begged 10323 teachers support and did lots of drama in support of the teachers, taking 360 degree turn, Education Minister Ratanlal Nath said that with 10323 teachers issue, Tripura BJP-IPFT Govt has no link. He further threatened CPI-M leaders, previous Education Dept officers to take legal action for 10323 teachers recruitment irregularity. In front of City Centre, huge protest was staged today, later police arrested all the teachers. Many teachers are still injured, hospitalized after yesterday’s protest. Terminated 10323 teachers have demanded resignation of Chief Minister Biplab Deb who is also the Home Minister of Tripura after he sent huge force to arrest the agitating teachers sat in protest in democratic way. Many teachers became ill today during protest, taken to IGM Hospital, where already many teachers are admitted since yesterday after police allegedly imposed lathi-charge.

Teacher Bimal Saha said that all arrested teachers should be immediately released and right now Home Minister should resign.

“We started our protest just four days back and on day-4 in inhuman manner, our colleagues are arrested.This is as brutal as Jaliwanwala Bagh incident happened under British rule. From today we are starting Civil Disobedience Movement”, said Bimal Saha.

Home Dept on yesterday sent huge numbers of police and arm forces to remove the teachers and dragged them from the spot. This incident took place when their leader Bimal Saha was absent and went for natural work. Police arrested the teachers, spoiled their computer, sound boxes and other items. After seeing the situation and empty protest spot gheraoed by police, Bimal Saha has condemned the incident. Police were trying to remove the teachers from yesterday night as DM imposed section-144 claiming Corona-virus threat.
