AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, March 18 (TIWN): Terminated 10323 teachers have demanded resignation of Chief Minister Biplab Deb who is also the Home Minister of Tripura after he sent huge force to arrest the agitating teachers sat in protest in democratic way. Addressing media, teacher Bimal Saha said that all arrested teachers should be immediately released and right now Home Minister should resign. “We started our protest just four days back and on day-4 in inhuman manner, our colleagues are arrested.This is as brutal as Jaliwanwala Bagh incident happened under British rule. From today we are starting Civil Disobedience Movementâ€, said Bimal Saha.
The 10323 teachers have protested before West Agartala PS against police’s barbaric attitude to them to remove them by force from the agitation spot with huge numbers of police and arms forces.
Showing plates on hands, demanding foods and livelihood, the teachers set in protest. Teachers broke down in tears, heart breaking footage have created turmoil in social media.
10323 teachers to lose jobs on March 31 under Supreme Court’s order but the BJP promised the teachers to solve their problems before the Assembly Election. Govt stopped the protest under emergency of Corona-virus, said by Law, Home Dept officials.
Home Dept today has sent huge numbers of police and arm forces to remove the teachers and dragged them from the spot. This incident took place when their leader Bimal Saha was absent and went for natural work. Police arrested the teachers, spoiled their computer, sound boxes and other items. After seeing the situation and empty protest spot gheraoed by police, Bimal Saha has condemned the incident. Police were trying to remove the teachers from yesterday night as DM imposed section-144 claiming Corona-virus threat.
