AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, March 11 (TIWN): In 29 years old Advocate Bhaskar Debroy’s death which has occurred allegedly due to extreme medical negligence has proven as true as Post Mortem report showed that Bhaskar’s rib was fractured along with many more internal injuries but no proper treatment was given. The post mortem report was read by High Court Chief Justice Akil Abdulhamid Kureshi during the hearing after an Advocate Pulka Saha filed a writ petition on behalf of all the Advocates. Senior Lawyer Purushottom Roy Barman who represented the Lawyers in the court while addressing media after the hearing said, “Bhaskar Debroy’s death is very tragic which is known to all who died without treatment. From Fire Brigade to Police to Doctor all showed negligence led young Advocate’s unfortunate end. On yesterday, Advocate General sought time and today report had to be placed and Post Mortem report was also placed today. What we said, it has been proven fact. His rib, leg and various organs as liver were injured".
"Bhaskar has both internal and external injuries but after Fire Brigade took Bhaskar in the GB Hospital, as an emergency patient no primary treatment was done, no tests were done but in medical report it was written “No External Injury”.
Moreover, when Pulak went there to see Bhaskar’s dead body he saw that Bhaskar’s dress was as it is, nothing was opened or changed, means no treatment was done”.
“If proper treatment was done, basic things like CT scan, Ultra Sonography then those internal issues could be found. But as nothing happened, out of pains and out of no treatment Bhaskar died”, Purushottom Roy Barman said.

“He died at 3.30 pm. Bhaskar will not come back but no more such incident should be repeated. Govt said that Govt is doing investigation and we said that we do not have any trust on Govt investigation. Being a senior Advocate I can say that hardly Govt can prove any medical negligence. In last 30 years one case only got justice but High Court had observation on that”, Barman told media.
It was also told the court that after 5 pm no special service remains in GB hospital. PG students are taking care.
Purushottom Roy Barman also mentioned, “A PG student does not have any fault. S/he is new but the Govt is equally responsible for not appointing any special care in this hospital after 5 pm”.
The next hearing in this case is on March 23.
