AGARTALA, November 11 (TIWN): With the extension of the cut off date for the candidates studied at the private study centers of the state the cabinet meeting on Tuesday decided that the candidates who had passed out from the private study centers of the state before 10.07.2013 will be considered as qualified in regard of their job.

Talking to the media persons on Tuesday after the cabinet meeting, Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty said that the cabinet meet today reconsidering the High Court’s Verdict extended the cut of date for the candidates studied at the private study centers here at the state. During the year 2005 the one Shantunu Saha of Tripura filed a Writ Petition with the High Court under the senior bench on Supreme Court Verdict of the Yaspal v/s State of Chhattisgarh Case. Later the High Court under the Senior Bench hearing the case considered the study centers of the state to as an illegal and un-authorized as per the Private University and State University Act.

But it has been witnessed that till the year 2011 many study centers are existing and running their classes with the students. Following which the state Higher Education on March 26, 2011 on its decision said that the study centers are not allowed to run their classes and the students cannot avail such centers considered as illegal and un-authorized. And later April 2, 2011 the Higher Education department had circulated the order to the media. And since then the cut of date for the study centers had rested on April 2, 2011 and it had been published on media. According to the first cut of date it was said that the un-authorized study centers cannot continue their coaching to the students after April 2, 2011. And the students who already passed before the cut of date can be considered as qualified for job under state govt.

It is to be mentioned here that the first cabinet meet here at the secretary on this issue decided the cut of date to be April 2, 2011.  But again on Tuesday the cabinet meeting reconsidering the HC judgement on Humanitarian ground decided the final cut of date to be 10.07.2013, said Minister Tapan Chakroborty.
