AGARTALA, March 6 (TIWN): Tripura TV Channel ‘Headlines Tripura’ Editor Pranab Sarkar, who is also the present Press Club Secretary elected as the national secretary of Indian Journalists Union (IJU).

Headlines Tripura Editor Pranab Sarkar informed TIWN via a Press note about his election as Secretary, Indian Journalist Union.

On being asked by media, Pranab Sarkar said, “Tripura always contributed nationally in the areas of journalism. From Bhupen Dutta Bhowmik, Subir Bhowmik, Subal Dey all senior journalists were nationally famous, but for the first time a national Secretary post is given to a Tripura media person that itself ushered a new hope”.

“I am thankful to the Central members that Tripura like state is finally given a position. Earlier also, I argued whenever I got the opportunity to place Tripura’s point of view and alleged them how the state is deprived of main media limelight. I attended various meetings, argued for Tripura and finally results came”, Sarkat told media.

He further assured, various facilities for the journalists will be introduced shortly and already many facilities have been started to be given.
