Purushottom Roy Barman said, “On the one side, Tripura Education Department is saying, huge numbers of vacant posts are existing for teachers. In 2019 December, State Govt arranged vacant posts to end the teachers’ crisis of state schools but when candidates are passed out they are left unemployed and they are becoming overage now”.

“TET exams are going on time to time. Recently, around 1700 graduate teachers were to be recruited, but the total advertisement was cancelled and then later 600 posts were announced as vacant, calling candidates to sit in examinations. Now, 318 were appointed but over thousands left jobless”, he said.

“Two teaching job aspirants whose cut of marks were higher than the required but were not recruited filed a petition in High Court. Today, High Court has issued notice to Govt of Tripura seeking replies by two weeks”, said Purushottom Roy Barman.
