MGNREGA Rs. 50 crore scam in Bishalgarh Block : CPI(M) protests under the banner of DYFI/TYF/SFI/TSU

AGARTALA, November 11 (TIWN): Scared with the continuous protests of opposition against massive MGNREGA scam in Bishalgarh R D Block, subsequent media coverage of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar's negative role to save the scamstar BDO Bimal Chakraborty , CPI(M) finally comes out to the streets with a specific intention of saving Manik Sarkar's so-called honest image. There is no denying of the fact that the party has envisaged the alarming sign about its future in Tripura, only state in the country where the communist party is in power. These days the party is organizing protest rallies in the name of DYFI/TYF/SFI/TSU. All these rallies main agenda is the same" Blaming Congress and media for creating a corrupt face of Chief Minister and govt". The party leaders are now saying that it is the credit of state govt and Chief Minister Manik Sarkar , who has asked the Audit Department to see whether there is lack of transparency anywhere. But Congress and a section of media are constantly busy in defaming the ' best CM in the country' .

Last week after almost five months since  then Finance Minister Badal Chowdhury and Director Audit informed Chief Secretary and CMO office(on 19/05/2014), finally  Chief Minister Manik Sarkar broke his silence over the Rs 50 crore MGNREGA scam in Bishalgarh R D Block in Sonamura saying  ," Whoever is guilty will be punished. The opposition is busy in misscampaign against the state govt." Interestingly only on 27th October two separate PIL were submitted in the High Court by Congress and Trinamool demanding CBI investigation and soon after returning from Central Committee meeting in Delhi Manik Sarkar too has smelt the rat and that might be the reason for him to break the silence.

Manik Sarkar in his speech in Sonamura told people :

1) Investigation is being done by Block, R D Department and police

2) Police arrested the main accused in Bishalgarh R D Block scam

3) If investigation is completed punishment will be given if any one is proved guilty

4) Oppositions are now making scandals against the state govt on this issue.

Interestingly Manik Sarkar did not mention the name of scam star BDO Bimal Chakraborty as the prime accused. All is aware of the fact that Manik Sarkar did his best to hide the MGNREGA scam as the allegations were raised against his favoured BDO. Being the God father of Bimal, he probably left no stone unturned. Somehow through RTI the Internal Audit Report got leaked and a section of Melarmath too leaked the truth before the media.  Followed by his step CPI(M) state secretary Bijan Dhar practically threatened the media for being proactive reminding with his own words," It is not our style to tame the media like TMC." And now the students and the youth wings of the party too are following the foot prints of Manik and Bijan. But none of the leader seems to feel the necessity to clarify the folkowing questions:-

1) What remains still unanswered is why did Chief Minister remain silent during the last five months?

2) Is he hesitating to utter the name of his most trusted TCD officer Bimal?

3) Why was the efficient Finance Minister Badal Chowdhury removed from this department in less than a week after the submission of IAR?

4)Why is Chief Minister's police not include the Section ' Prevention of Corruption Act' in MGNREGA scam?

5) Why was the honest Director, Audit transferred to SIPARD?

6) Why did his police give the scope to Bimal Chakraborty to present the ' high voltage' surrender episode and that too on a day when the court was on holiday?

7) Why did Manik Sarkar not instruct his police to make immediate arrest even after getting the proof that Bimal Chakraborty was involved in misappropriation?

Now as the party comes out in all out attack against Congress and media( Bazzari Patrika ebong Website) it also gives some serious doubts in the minds of the people.

1) Has the Central Committee instructed Manik Sarkar to make his clear stand in public?

2) Has his party's young brigade realized that CMs fabricated reputation of ' Honesty & Clean' is being brutally damaged?

3) Is the party and Manik Sarkar scarred about the most likely CBI probe?

4) Has the CM smelt that a major section in the party is ready to revolt against him due to his silence over corruption issues? If not, why Bijan Dhar felt the urge to deny any rift in the party?

6) Has the party as well as Chief Minister too weary of West Bengal and Kerala like debacle in Tripura?

7) Is the party trying to divert the attention of the public from the Bimal Chakraborty issue and the shameful attitude of Manik & Co.?
