AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, March 1 (TIWN): In the poverty gripped state Tripura where electricity tariff to water tax, Municipality taxes, Property tax, fuel tax, trade license to Health Service charges all have been brutally increased has ended with 22% more tax revenue collections in 2019-20. This data was given by none other than Tripura Law Minister Ratanlal Nath, although he claimed it did not happen due to tax collection but some E-system. Noted, BJP Govt has increased charges everywhere including Goddess Tripura Sundari temple’s meal price to various tourism sectors. Even in various fairs the hawkers are asked to give Rs. 100 to enter. On the other side, due to lack of MGNREGA mandays lapses which has downed at 20%, for which Congress is going to the High Court has rattled poor people’s lives. Slowdown badly affected public earning and except fake and manipulated JUMLA data there is no hope on the practical ground. Poor people are on camera saying, their income downed half in the BJP era whereas before 2 years the income was double.

But, BJP before the election assured a Double Engine which was expected as “massive central funding” to boost state’s economy.

Amid statewide hunger and poverty, Tripura Education Minister Ratanlal Nath has announced that per person income is over 1 lakh in Tripura.

Earlier the same Minister had claimed that around 86% of the budget plan is fulfilled in Tripura.

This statement came after people are dying without food, over 60% people are BPL. However, state also tops in unemployment with 32.7%

However, in this claim row, CM is not also lagging behind. CM said, he is happy that people of Tripura is no more having a that set of mind, neither reputation is like before. Here youths have become job creators and thus state is freed from “Kangaalipona”.

Earlier also CM insulted Govt jobs seekers many times, calling Govt employees are burdens for a Govt.

“Earlier, whenever people talked about Tripura, they used to slam Tripura calling them Kangal but today I am proud that Tripura is no more Kangal but people are dedicated to work and engaged in job creations”, said CM.

Amid 32.7% unemployment rate existing in Tripura, CM said only 4.5% unemployed youths remained in state. He said out of 6.45 lakhs 1.77 are remained workless.

However, Tripura tops in unemployment and the unemployment rate has increased not double but triple under BJP-IPFT Govt.
