Agartala, Nov 10 (TIWN): Kazi Nazrul Islam Senior Basic School, located in Bitarban, outskirt of the capital city- Agartala has been facing several problems including shortage of teachers, leave, mid-day-meal, late coming of teachers, shortage of group-D employees and many others for long time. Following the issues, deprived students and guardians including local residents of Bitarban area, Mondaylocked the school gate seeking improvement of overall infrastructure in the school immediately.
A section of angry guardians alleged that the teachers do not attend the school regularly while some of the teachers come late in the school. They also alleged that many of the teachers spend time by gossiping without conducting the classes. As a result, the students are not getting proper education only for the negligence of school authority.
According to the irritated residents, the school is running with 14 teachers only while 5 out of them are on deputation and 2 more on leave. The school has been facing acute shortage of teachers and irregularities have been found in providing mid-day-meal to the students, they added.
The group-D employees of the school also maintain irregularities in the school. Hence, nobody opens the school gate unless the teachers come in the school. As a result, the students face difficulty to enter into the school as they come by 10.45.
However, the Headmaster of the school- Rajib Ghosh controlled the situation and opened the lock after 30 minutes from the beginning by assuring them to forward the issues to the higher authority. The locals and guardians said that they would lock the gate again and would stage massive protest if the problems remain same in future.
On being asked about the issues, the Head Master Rajib Ghosh accepted the issues and informed, despite several requests, the concerned authority did not pay any attention.
